As salam alaikum Everyone!
I hope you are doing well with Allah’s remembrance. Alhamdulillah I am just one month away from giving birth to my baby girl. Please remember us in your duas!
The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said, “There is no deed better in the sight of Allah or more greatly rewarded than a good deed done in the (first) ten days of Al-Adha” (meaning the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah, reported in Bukhari).
The first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah are from 5/28/25 to 6/6/25. Other than performing Hajj, here are wonderful acts to do during these blessed 10 days:
- Recite Dhikrullah (Remembrance of Allah)
The Prophet (pbuh) said: “There are no days on which good deeds are greater or more beloved to Allah than on these ten days, so recite much Tahleel ( Laa ilaaha ill-Allah), Takbeer ( Allahu Akbar) and Tahmeed ( Alhamdu Lillaah).” (Ahmad -Saheeh)
- Fasting, especially on the Day of Arafah:
The Prophet (pbuh ) used to fast on the ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah and he said: “Fasting the Day of ‘Arafah (ninth Dhul-Hijja) is an expiation for (all the sins of) the previous year and expiation for (all the sins of) the coming year.” (Muslim)
This year the 9th of Dhul Hijjah is Thursday June 5.
- Slaughtering an animal and distributing the meat (Qurbani)
There are many good Islamic charity websites to help you to do this.
- Any other good deeds such as charity, extra prayers, reading Quran, making duas, repentance, upholding family ties, making peace with others, etc.
