Islam Teaches Us To Never Lose Hope!

This is a chapter from my first book that I published, with the help of Allah (swt), called “The Basic Values of Islam.” This is the chapter about HOPE. Please read these Quranic verses and 1 hadith about Hope, which is extremely important for being a Happy Muslim.

27. HOPE
Desire accompanied by expectation of or belief in fulfillment

…And whosoever fears Allah…He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine.
The Holy Quran 65:2-3

…After a difficulty, Allah will soon grant relief.

The Holy Quran 65:7

So, verily, with every difficulty, there is relief: Verily with every difficulty there is relief. Therefore, when you are free (from your immediate task), still labor hard. And to your Lord turn (all) your attention.
The Holy Quran 94:5-7

Allah promises us that after every difficulty is relief. We must never lose hope that our situation will improve.

Say: “My servants, you who have transgressed against yourselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Truly Allah forgives all wrong actions. He is the Ever-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.”
The Holy Quran 39:53

Allah commands us to never lose hope in His mercy and forgiveness. Even if we have committed many sins, Allah forgives all sins except that of associating partners with Him.

O my sons (said Prophet Jacob)! Go you and enquire about Yusuf (Joseph) and his brother, and never give up hope of Allah’s Mercy. Certainly no one despairs of Allah’s Mercy, except the people who disbelieve.
The Holy Quran 12:87

Losing hope in Allah’s mercy is likened to disbelieving in Allah.

Do you think that you will enter paradise without such trials as came to those who passed away before you? They experienced suffering and adversity and were so shaken in spirit that even the Prophet and the faithful who were with him cried, “When will Allah’s help come?” Ah, verily the help of Allah is near.
The Holy Quran 2:214

The path to paradise involves trials and difficulties. But never lose hope! It is just a test!

Surely there is in the person of Allah’s messenger an excellent example for you—for every person who has hope in Allah and the hereafter and who remembers Allah, reciting His name many times.
The Holy Quran 33:21

Hope is faith in Allah and the hereafter.

…So be not of the despairing.
The Holy Quran 15:55

Wealth and sons are allurements of the life of this world: but the things that endure, Good Deeds, are best in the sight of thy Lord, as rewards, and best as (the foundation for) hopes.
The Holy Quran 18:46

The true foundation of hope is the good that we do in this life.

God is with you and will never deprive you of your (good) deeds.
The Holy Quran 47:35

Do not lose heart nor fall into despair! You shall triumph if you are believers.
The Holy Quran 3:139

True success comes to those who believe.

Their limbs do forsake their beds of sleep, the while they call on their Lord, in Fear and Hope: and they spend (in charity) out of the sustenance which We have bestowed on them.
The Holy Quran 32:16

Waking up to pray to Allah when we are tired is a sure sign of our hope in Allah’s reward.

Call upon your Lord humbly and in secret. Lo! He loveth not transgressors. Work not confusion in the Earth after the fair ordering thereof, and call on Him in fear and hope. Lo! The mercy of Allah is nigh unto the good.
The Holy Quran 7:55-56

The believer calls on Allah in fear and hope: fear of His displeasure, and hope in His mercy and approval of us.

Allah created mercy in one hundred parts and sent down to earth only one part. Because of this one part, there is mutual love amongst creation, so much so that an animal will lift up its hoof from its young one, fearing that it might harm it. Allah has reserved the remaining ninety-nine parts of this mercy to favor His believing servants on the Day of Judgment.

The Prophet Muhammad as recorded in Bukhari and Muslim, Book #037, Hadith #6631

This hadith is a source of great hope in that Allah has reserved 99 out of 100 parts of mercy for the Day of Judgment. Now reflect on this: only one part of this 100 is divided among all living creatures on earth, including every single human being. Whatever mercy there is on earth, 99 times of that is with Allah. We cannot even fathom how merciful God is!

So whoever would hope for the meeting with his Lord – let him do righteous work and not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone.
The Holy Quran 18:110

Let us be hopeful about meeting our Lord with our worship of Him alone.

Very nice work. Thoug you say that allah dont forgive if one associates partner with allah. And that is not true. Allah forgives all sins even shirk. Thoug one has to make tawbah.

    Dearest Sisters and brothers

I think I am the most sinner human being alive in an entire umma of our beloved Prophet Mohammad. I am now in my mid 30’s and it has been a very long time form me to commit sin as bad as Zinah.. not actual Zinah..

I belong to a very respected family with a loyal wife and a beautiful son, may Allah bless my family and friends who have prayed or not have prayed for me.

I belive in Allah and his Rasool and expect his mercy for the rest of my life.

Due to my ignorance towards Namaz, Quran and Zikir……… I am about to loose my business and affection from the family. I have debt more then I can pay, I see no one who can help me except Allah…… but i think my sins have over taken the mercy of Allah.

I am grateful to Allah for blessing me with good home, good food, nice family sofar…….but i see all the good things provided to me taken away in an instance.

I belive the readers and opinion giver are less sinner then me so I request them to prey for person like me as I have made my mind to leave my family in the hand of Allah and runaway with my problem. I know I am coward to act like this. This is the best option I have.

Please remember me in your prayers

      Dear fellow sinner.

      Yes, we are a sinner.
I too, has doing lots, LOTS of sins troughout my life.
I was in college, there’s this time that i lost my friends, and my grades dropped.
      I was depressed.
But after that, i began to rely on Allah SWT.
After i lost everything, it’s become clearer to me that there’s only one that is there for me.
      My creators.

Maybe you too, trough this hardship, you’re reminded to remember Him. And you’re almost there. Admitting your sins is a great step. Now your next step is repentance.

Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari (R.A.A) reported: The Prophet (S.A.W.S) said: “Allah, the Exalted, will continue to stretch out His Hand in the night so that the sinners of the day may repent, and continue to stretch His Hand in the daytime so that the sinners of the night may repent, until the sun rises from the west (start of day of judgment)”. [Sahih Muslim].

May we can fight ourselves and be saved in the day of judgement. Amiiin.

JazakAllahu Khairun for this post. Reading it at a time when my spirits are at their lowest, on the verge of losing hope and giving up on everything I tried so very hard to protect.
This was a good reminder to keep going. That is a force far far greater than us. That it is from Allah that we have happiness or sorrow in our lives. And that it is Allah who eases our hardships.
I shall keep trying, and inshaAllah, Allah will bring to me what is best for me in this world and the hereafter.

In the Quran’s view, a benevolent and righteous person is one with hope for God’s favour and who believes in His promises. Therefore, whoever expects Divine Mercy, should be beneficent (Holy Quran, A’räf: Ayat56). Forgiveness and generosity.

    Mashallah good post.

I have seen the day of judgement with a witness . the sun rose from the west and a moon of fire appeared under and beside it . I read from a Sheikh that it is a special sign for certain believers . the worlds were all changed around . Allah has power over infinite universes . I have been punished to death several times and have transgressed , been attacked by the evil one for years , tortured , and have lost my love and new family , almost everything . there is no god but Allah , and the book of guidance is the truth that lives in those who believe . insha Allah !
