Prayer:
And your Lord said, “Call on Me, I will respond to you.” —The Holy Quran 40:60
Effort:
A human being can have nothing but what he strives for. –The Holy Quran 53:39
The Basics:
And they have been commanded no more than this: To worship Allah, offering Him sincere devotion, being true (in faith); to establish regular prayer; and to practice regular charity; and that is the Religion, Right and Straight.–The Holy Quran 98:5
Purpose:
And I created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me. –The Holy Quran 51:56
Mercy:
Say: “My servants, you who have transgressed against yourselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Truly Allah forgives all wrong actions. He is the Ever-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.” –The Holy Quran 39:53
Only Allah:
“It is You we worship, and You we ask for help.”–The Holy Quran 1:5
Love our Prophet (pbuh):
Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O you who believe! Send you blessings on him, and salute him with all respect. –Holy Quran 33:56
Remembrance:
“Remember your Lord morning and evening, deep in your heart with humility and with fear; and also in a low voice; do not be of those who are heedless.” –Holy Quran 7:205
Responsibility:
“…Surely Allah does not change the conditions in which a people are in until they change that which is in themselves… (13:11).”
Patience:
3:186 says: You shall certainly be tried and tested in your possessions and in your personal selves, and you shall certainly hear much that will grieve you from those who received the Book before you and from those who worship many gods. But if you persevere patiently and guard against evil then that will be a determining factor in all affairs
Remember to be Thankful:
Therefore remember Me. I will remember you. Be grateful to Me and never show me ingratitude.–The Holy Quran 2:152
If you give thanks, I will give you more…The Holy Quran 14:7
Use Your Reason:
It is He Who has created you from dust; then from a sperm-drop; then from a leech-like clot; then does he get you out as a child; then lets you (grow and) reach your age of full strength; then lets you become old–though of you there are some who die before–and lets you reach a Term appointed; in order that you may use your reason.–The Holy Quran 40:67
Gratitude, Patience, and Prayer:
(14:34) “…If you count the blessings of Allah, never will you be able to number them…”
Nay, seek (Allah’s) help with patience and prayer: and most surely it is a hard thing except for the humble ones.” (The Holy Quran 2:45)
Don’t Forget that…
Every chapter (except one) in the Quran begins with Bismillahirahmaniraheem, “In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.”
Do not Quarrel:
And obey Allah and His Messenger and do not quarrel for then you will be weak in hearts and your power will depart, and be patient; surely Allah is with the patient. (Holy Quran 8:46)
Allah wants to purify us:
“Allah does not want difficulty for you, but He wants to purify you, and to complete His favor upon you, that you may be grateful.” (end of Quranic verse 5:6)
Desire the Next World’s rewards more:
“Anyone who desires the reward in this world shall be given it here, and anyone who desires the reward in the hereafter shall be given it there. Soon We will reward the thankful.” (Holy Quran 3:145)
“So as for he who transgressed, and preferred the life of this world, then indeed hellfire will be his refuge.” (Holy Quran 79: 37-39)
Who is the best in speech?
“Who is better in speech than the one who summons people unto God, and performed a good deed and says, ‘Truly I am of the believers.’”
The Holy Quran 41:33
Grace:
“Whosoever intends to do a good deed but does not do it, Allah records it with Himself as a complete good deed; but if he intends it and does it, Allah records it with Himself as ten good deeds, up to seven hundred times, or more than that. But if he intends to do an evil deed and does not do it, Allah records it with Himself as a complete good deed; but if he intends it and does it, Allah records it down as one single evil deed.” (Bukhari, Muslim)
Duaa:
Our Lord (glorified and exalted be He) descends each night to the earth’s sky when there remains the final third of the night, and He says: Who is saying a prayer to Me that I may answer it? Who is asking something of Me that I may give it him? Who is asking forgiveness of Me that I may forgive him?
(Hadith Qudsi # 35 as recorded in Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidthi and Abu Dawud)
Allah’s Love:
“God says: ‘I am to my servant as he expects of Me. I am with him when he remembers Me. If he remembers Me in his heart, I remember him to Myself, and if he remembers me in an assembly, I mention him in an assembly better than his, and if he draws nearer to Me a hand’s span, I draw nearer to him an arm’s length, and if he draws nearer to Me an arm’s length, I draw nearer to him a fathom length, and if he comes to me walking, I rush to him at (great) speed.” (Bukhari and Muslim) This is really an amazing hadith. First, you should expect the best of your Lord. Please understand that Allah is extremely merciful and compassionate. Unfortunately a lot of Muslims don’t understand this with their hearts. But consider this hadith: Umar ibn Al-Khattab reported: Some prisoners of war were brought in front of the Prophet (pbuh), and a woman was among them who was breast-feeding. Whenever she found a child among the prisoners, she would take it to her chest and nurse it. The Prophet said to us, “Do you think this woman could throw her child in the fire?” We said, “No, not if she is able to stop it.” He said, “Allah is more merciful to His servants than a mother is to her child” (recorded in Bukhari, Book 73, Number 28).
Gratitude and Patience:
“How excellent the affairs of the believer! His affair, all of it, is good for him, and this is not the case with anyone except the believer. If prosperity comes to him, he is thankful, and if adversity falls on him, he perseveres patiently. So it is all good for him.” (Muslim, Ahmad)
Take your precautions:
A man said to the Prophet, “Should I tie up the legs of my camel and then rely upon God, or should I leave it free, and then rely upon God to take care of it?” The Prophet said, “Tie up its legs, and then rely upon God.” (Tirmidthi)
Look at those with less:
The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said, “When one of you sees another who is superior to him in point of wealth and creation, let him look to him who is below him. That is more proper that you hold not in contempt the favor of God towards you” (recorded in Bukhari and Muslim).
Mercy:
Hadith Qudsi recorded in Bukhari and Muslim states, “When God decided (to create) a creation, He wrote a writing which is with Him upon His Throne, namely, “Verily, My mercy has overtaken My wrath.” (Bukhari, Muslim)
Speak Good:
Whoso believes in God and the Last Day, let him speak good, or keep silent” (Bukhari, Tirmidthi).
Stop looking for faults:
“O You who have accepted Islam with your tongues, but in whose heart faith has not yet entered! Do not annoy the Muslims nor revile them, nor seek out their faults. For whosoever seeks out the fault of his brother Muslim, Allah will seek out his faults. He whose faults are sought out by Allah, then Allah will expose him, even if he is inside his house” (Muslim).
“No man blames another for wickedness and unbelief, but it will return upon him” (Bukhari).
“…And whoever hides the faults of a Muslim, Allah will hide his faults on the Day of Resurrection” (Bukhari).

We do believe Islam consists of Quran and Sunnah and they are in the same level because there is no conflict between them…the sunnah, which is the way of Mohammed’s (PBUH) life, is the explanation of Qurran..and without it (the Sunnah) Muslims would never know how to translate the Words of Allah (Qurran) to our daily life….
Thank you for your comment!
