Regular exercise, preferably daily, is the best health insurance because exercise prevents and treats so many illnesses, including diabetes, cancer, heart disease, and depression. According to Dr. Joseph Mercola, exercise is the best “medicine” for diabetes. I highly recommend Dr. Mercola’s website and free newsletter. Just visit www.Mercola.com and sign up! It’s free!
You really cannot afford not to exercise. According to many health experts, “interval training” is extremely beneficial. It is simply exercising in spurts of very intense exercise (for a few seconds or minutes) and then less intense exercise. Alternating between these two intensities actually reverses the aging process, builds muscle, and boosts your metabolism. Examples of interval training include running very quickly for a few minutes and then walking, or jumping quickly in place for a few minutes and then marching. There are many possibilities. Ideally, you should exercise in a way that you find enjoyable.
Exercise releases brain chemicals called “Endorphins,” which are the “happy” chemicals. They make you feel happy, which is why exercise is an excellent remedy for depression.
