This TUESDAY, THE TENTH OF MUHARRAM, OCTOBER 11, IS THE BLESSED DAY OF ASHURA. This day COMMEMORATES the day when Allah (swt) saved Prophet Musa (Moses) and his followers from pharoah, drowning pharoah and his army.
The Prophet (pbuh) said the following about fasting on this blessed day:
“For fasting the day of ‘Ashura’, I hope that Allah will accept it as expiation for the year that went before.” [Reported by Muslim, 1976]
Let us fast on this blessed day, all together, and let us also make a lot of duaas for ourselves and for our ummah. The blessed Prophet (pbuh) said:
“Three supplications will not be rejected by Allah (SWT), the supplication of the parent for his child, the supplication of the one who is fasting, and the supplication of the traveler.” [al-Bayhaqi, at-Tirmidhi – Sahih]
