7 Heartwarming Hadiths

sun shiningThese sayings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) touch my heart. I hope they will touch yours too.

1. “A believer may achieve the status of one who regularly fasts during the day and spends the night in prayer, through his good manners.”

The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as recorded in Riyadh-us-Salaheen, Hadith 629

2. The Prophet Muhammad reported that the devil said to God: “I shall continue to lead Thy servants astray as long as their spirits are in their bodies.” And God replied: “(Then) I shall continue to pardon them as long as they ask My forgiveness.”

Recorded in Tirmidthi, Hadith 742

3. Whenever the Prophet saw Fatimah (his daughter) he would welcome her, and rising from his seat would kiss her, and then taking her by the hand would seat her in his own seat.

Recorded in Bukhari

4. The Prophet said to a companion while they were near a mountain, “I would not like to have gold equal to this mountain of Uhud, unless nothing of it, not even a single Dinar of it remains with me for more than three days, except something which I will keep for repaying debts. I would have spent all of it (distributed it) amongst Allah’s servants like this, and like this, and like this.” The Prophet pointed out with his hand towards his right, his left and his back (while illustrating it). He proceeded with his walk and said, “The rich are in fact the poor (little rewarded) on the Day of Resurrection except those who spend their wealth like this, and like this, and like this, to their right, left and back, but such people are few in number…”

Sahih al-Bukhari Volume 8, Book 76, Number 45

5. “Verily, God looks not to your figures, nor to your bodies, but He looks into your hearts and to your works of piety.” Then pointing to his breast, the Prophet (s) said, ‘Herein lies piety.’ This he repeated thrice.”

Recorded in Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidthi, Abu Daud

6. “He who endeavors (to relieve) the needy, the widows, and the poor, is as one who endeavors in the service of God, is as one who stands up (to pray all night) and does not relax and rest, and as one who fasts and breaks it not.”

The Prophet Muhammad (s) as recorded in Bukhari Vol 7, Book 64, No 265, Muslim

7. A man asked permission of the Prophet (to take part) in a jihad (a battle against oppressors). The Prophet asked, “Are your parents living?” He said, “Yes.” The Prophet said, “Then go to them and do jihad (by taking care of them).”

Recorded in Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidthi, Abu Daud
